9 things you should know before you "Want to Become LIC Agent in Mumbai"

In present economic scenario many individuals across India aims to start their own business along with their present occupation or service. LIC Agency is one of the most selected option for part time business. Though currently you get all the information at the click of the button on internet still you need to know following 9 important things before you Want to Become LIC agent in Mumbai.

1. Age Factor:
To become an LIC Agent IRDA has specified that you need to be 18 years and above. So any person you have crossed this prescribed age age limit can apply as LIC Agent, but ideally a person who has completed his studies should join as lic agent. Reason being a student juggling between LIC Agency business and studies do not go hand in hand. LIC Agency is a full time profession with lot of responsibilities towards our clients, so if you cannot focus then your goodwill in clients mind takes the set back which at the beginning of the career is not advisable. Also most of the industry business activity trend is seen in last quarter of the financial year i.e. January to March, so being a student again academic exams time table is for same period so focusing becomes a big issue and at the end you end up losing either business or studies. So students unless life’s situation demands you need to work you should not start any business or job till you complete your studies with complete focus.

2.      Qualification:
Again as per IRDA’s guideline you need to have completed 10 + 2 pattern of studies in urban areas and 10 std passed if you are from any rural area. But in urban areas most of the time many candidates apply for diploma courses in various fields which are equivalent to 10+2 pattern or H.S.C. Hence any candidate who want to become LIC Agent in Mumbai or in  any urban area who has complete minimum of 2 years of full time government recognized diploma can apply for LIC agent. Also any candidates who has appeared for entrance exams of any open universities which gives direct access to the degree courses then such entrance exams are also considered as 10+2 completed and he or she can apply to become LIC Agent in Mumbai or in any urban areas across India.

The syllabus for the training is prescribed by IRDA in IC33 Format for life insurance industry. These training are conducted by LIC in two ways i.e. Class room Training and Online Training. For class rooms trainings LIC form Divisional Training Centre (D.T.C.) and Additional Training Centre (A.T.C.) in all division office across India, whereby the candidates can in person attain 4 days full time training for IC33 syllabus. The best part of D.T.C. are you get first hand feel about LIC, its working pattern and are benefitted from vast experience of the trainers. You can directly interact with them and ask your queries or doubts. The second way to get your 25 hours training is online, where you will be directed by LIC to IRDA authorized online training institute and they will give you login id and password, which you can use get online training. The important thing is you should complete the training in prescribed time limit only. This is majorly a self study. So it is up to you to decide how you want to take the training to become an LIC agent in Mumbai or across India. Classroom training are preferred by non working candidates and online training is preferred by working candidates, but as per my personal opinion you should undergo classroom training and even if you have to apply for leave from your office you should do that.  But classroom or online, undergoing training is compulsory before you want to become lic agent in Mumbai or across India.
